YEP Business Ideas Incubator has been identified and promoted as one of European good practices of women entrepreneurship. Initiative “Women in Business” identified 43 good practices for the purposed of the transnational learning and policy development.
The Women in Business aimed to develop, through a mutual learning process, innovative training models which will be the main tool for fostering young women entrepreneurship and establishment of the Women Entrepreneurship Centers. YEP and Foundation IMPAKT supported establishment of one women entrepreneurship centre in BiH at the Faculty of Economics, University of Sarajevo, and at the same day we launched gender-equality campaign: Women are equal to Man, just Less Worthy. The campaign caused a lot of attention due to its controversial (maybe even grammatically incorrect) title, and messages that were directly targeting employment stereotypes.
After two years of hard work and support of business and policy development, YEP Business Ideas Incubator has been identified as the second best European practice in supporting women entrepreneurship. The project’s our core idea was not to support exclusively women, but we invested significant efforts into understanding their specific needs, and adjusting our approach to it. As result we have more than 70 successful businesses established and run by women.
